KARACHI: President of Federal B Area Association of Trade and Industry (FBAATI) Sheikh Tahseen has said that Pakistan must focus on global competition, not just exports. Consistent competition in the global market is the guarantee of real success, he said.

Pakistan must move towards technology, innovation and value-added exports, said Sheikh Tahseen.

Global trade demands a modern export strategy from Pakistan, he was of the view.

He said that exports will increase not by finding new markets but by meeting global standards. Investment in technology and innovation is indispensable to maintain a place in the global market, Sheikh Tahseen added.

Future trade revolves around artificial intelligence and digital economy. Pakistan has excellent talent, young workforce and industrial base, said President FBAATI.

He emphasised that Pakistan must prepare itself according to future trade demands.

Global buyers now prefer not only price but also quality, sustainability, technology and timely delivery.

Pakistan’s export competitiveness should be the focus of future trade policy, said Sheikh Tahseen.
