LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has decided to take strict action against businesses failing to implement the Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (EIMS).
The Chairman PRA, while presiding over a meeting to review the Authority’s performance regarding EIMS implementation and tax collection, directed field officers to accelerate the campaign for mandatory enforcement of the system and intensify efforts to register new businesses.
He said expanding the tax base and ensuring compliance with tax laws were among the top priorities of the authority. The chairman also directed officials to immediately address complaints regarding the issuance of fake, unauthorised or QR code-less invoices. Warning businesses involved in tax evasion and other violations, he said such entities would remain under continuous monitoring and heavy penalties would be imposed on violators in accordance with the law.
He emphasised that promoting digital tax systems was essential for improving transparency, enhancing taxpayer services and increasing provincial revenue.
