LAHORE: “Providing every possible facility to the millions of devotees arriving from across the country and abroad for the annual Urs of Data Darbar is the top priority of the Punjab government, and the entire administration remains fully mobilized to ensure a seamless, secure, and hassle-free spiritual experience for all pilgrims,” expressed Secretary Auqaf and Religious Affairs and Chief Administrator Auqaf Punjab, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta, while presiding over a review meeting held in the committee room of Data Darbar, which was attended by Administrator Data Darbar Muhammad Ali Khan, Khateeb Data Darbar Mosque Mufti Mukhtar Ahmad Nadeem, Convener Langar Committee Mansoor Rizvi, Convener Doodh Sabeel Committee Imran Hanafi, SSP Special Branch Tariq Aziz, and other senior administrative officers.
During the session, Mufti Mukhtar Ahmad Nadeem briefed the chair regarding the event schedule, announcing preliminary two-day religious programs on July 30 and 31 followed by the main three-day annual Urs celebrations from August 2 to 4, featuring international Qirat and Naat competitions, spiritual gatherings, and religious conferences attended by renowned national and international Islamic scholars, while Administrator Muhammad Ali Khan and SSP Special Branch Tariq Aziz presented detailed security and administrative plans in light of Regional Peace Committee (RPC) directives—encompassing 24/7 unhindered langar and milk sabeel distribution, round-the-clock CCTV camera surveillance, first-aid medical camps, chilled drinking water, pristine sanitation, and organized traffic and parking management—upon which Dr. Ehsan Bhutta issued strict, uncompromising directives to all departments.
