Governor seeks stronger Pak-Türkiye partnership in healthcare

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi on Friday call for deeper Pakistan-Türkiye cooperation in healthcare, medical education and research, marking that greater international collaboration is essential to improve access to modern and quality healthcare services.

The Governor made the remarks during a meeting at the Governor House with Chairman of the Ibn Sina Foundation, Dr Kemal Aydın, where the two sides discussed healthcare, medical research, medical education, advanced healthcare technologies and expanding bilateral cooperation.

Hashmi said Pakistan and Türkiye enjoy longstanding brotherly relations founded on shared values, mutual trust and close cooperation, adding that the partnership should be further strengthened in the health sector.

He said Sindh offers significant opportunities for investment in healthcare, medical research and advanced medical technologies, and emphasized that providing citizens with modern, high-quality and accessible healthcare remains one of the government’s top priorities.

“The exchange of medical expertise and greater international cooperation in the health sector are the need of the hour,” the Governor said.

Dr Aydın expressed the Ibn Sina Foundation’s interest in expanding cooperation and investment in Sindh’s healthcare sector, including medical education, research and welfare initiatives.

Appreciating the Foundation’s contributions to healthcare, Governor Hashmi expressed confidence that Pakistan-Türkiye collaboration in medicine and public health would continue to expand for the mutual benefit of both countries.
