FAISALABAD: Director General of the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA), Muhammad Asif Chaudhry, has directed officials to ensure responsible and honest compliance with court orders in all pending cases involving the Authority, stressing that the FDA’s position in every case should be presented clearly, effectively and strictly in accordance with the law.

He instructed that all relevant legal provisions, rules, regulations and government policies must be taken into consideration during court proceedings to ensure effective protection of the Authority’s interests. He issued these directions while hearing the stance of a party regarding compliance with a court order in a pending case.

Director Town Planning Asma Mohsin, Legal Consultant Rana Saleem, and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion.

Reviewing the laws, rules and policies governing town planning, the DG FDA said it was the Authority’s responsibility to provide timely relief to citizens within the legal framework. He emphasised that no applicant should face unnecessary delays or unjustified legal obstacles. In cases involving legal complexities, he said, every effort should be made to resolve issues through administrative and legal channels before they escalate into litigation.

Muhammad Asif Chaudhry said that transparency in public affairs, adherence to the rule of law and the delivery of citizen-friendly public services remained the core objectives of the FDA. He directed all officers to perform their professional responsibilities strictly in accordance with the law while ensuring merit, justice and transparency in every case. He further instructed officials to strengthen inter-departmental coordination to ensure the timely and effective defence of court cases as well as the prompt resolution of citizens’ legitimate grievances.

Reaffirming his commitment to institutional reforms, the DG FDA said that a modern command and control system was being implemented within the Authority to provide citizens with greater convenience, faster services and timely relief in accordance with legal requirements.
