LAHORE: A special court on Saturday issued a notice to Defence C police and prosecutor for July 28 in a post-arrest bail petition filed by one of the suspects in two foreign women’s abduction and rape case.

The petitioner’s argued that his client had been falsely implicated in the case due to defective and unfair investigation.

He said no specific allegation or role had been attributed to the petitioner in the FIR. The counsel pointed out that the petitioner was a member of the janitorial staff at the property allegedly used for the alleged occurrence.

No evidence of the petitioner’s presence at the alleged occurrence had been presented by the police, he added.

He, therefore, asked the court to release the petitioner on bail.

The court after hearing initial arguments issued notice to the prosecution for next hearing.
