ISLAMABAD: Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni on Tuesday praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in easing regional tensions and promoting de-escalation during a meeting with Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional and bilateral security, and effective border management.

The visiting Iranian minister appreciated Pakistan’s consistent efforts and described its diplomatic role in reducing regional tensions as indispensable, acknowledging the country as an anchor for peace in the region.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their resolve to maintain close coordination and strengthen cooperative mechanisms aimed at safeguarding regional security, improving border management, and promoting mutual prosperity.
