Director General of Directorate General of Religious Education (DGRE), Major General (r) Ghulam Qamar, along with a delegation of students visited Sir Syed University of Engineering & Technology (SSUET) and later had a meeting with the Chancellor Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal Haque, Registrar Cdre. (r) Syed Sarfraz Ali and the SSUET high officials. Meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aamir, Prof. Dr. Mir Shabbar Ali, Dr. Kashif Shaikh, Hassan Zaki, Munaf Advani, Noman Ali Khan and others.
Addressing the meeting, Chancellor of Sir Syed University, Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan, underscored that while religious education holds significant value, it confines students’ exposure to diverse perspectives and opportunities. In an increasingly interconnected world, students must be equipped not only with madarsa knowledge but also with the skills and competencies required to thrive in a globalized society.
Chancellor Akbar Ali Khan emphasized that the integration of religious education with contemporary learning is essential. By adopting this holistic educational framework, we can empower our students to become well-rounded individuals capable of making positive contributions to their communities and the world at large.
Chancellor Muhammad Akbar Ali Khan of SSUET highlighted the university’s notable features and accomplishments. He pointed out that NAVTTC has recognized the institution four times for its commitment to providing students with vocational training and skills, underscoring the high quality of education and training offered at SSUET.
Director General of DGRE, Major General (r) Ghulam Qamar, stated that education is most effective when it balances the preservation of values with the embrace of progress. He emphasized that mainstreaming Madrasa Education is essential for equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in today’s world while respecting their educational heritage. The technical training program aims to provide participants with practical knowledge, hands-on experience, and the confidence needed to thrive in a competitive environment. This approach will expand their horizons and encourage exploration of various professional fields.
Major General (r) Ghulam Qamar also highlighted the urgent need for skilled labor in the country, stressing the vital role that vocational training plays in addressing this demand. He visited the various classrooms and computer labs and appreciated the facilities available at SSUET.
