LAHORE: Secretary Agriculture Punjab, Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, chaired an important meeting at Multan to review the ongoing measures for achieving the cotton production target, the current status of crops, and other key agricultural matters.
The meeting was attended by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Asif Ali, Special Secretary Agriculture (South Punjab) Sarfraz Hussain Magsi, Director Generals of the Agriculture Department Punjab Abdul Hameed, Naveed Asmat Kahloon, Dr Aamir Rasool, Dr Sajid-ur-Rehman, Consultant Agriculture Department Muhammad Anjum Ali, along with relevant officers from the Agriculture and Irrigation Departments.
On the occasion, Secretary Agriculture Punjab Iftikhar Ali Sahoo said that all possible resources and means are being utilized to achieve the cotton production target.
He directed that farmers should be provided technical guidance about management of cotton and other crops during the ongoing severe heat wave. He further directed that timely and need-based canal water supplies should be ensured for cotton crop.
Secretary Agriculture Punjab also directed the concerned officials to take indiscriminate action against those who involved in the illegal trade of counterfeit agricultural pesticides.
