Operation Shaaban: Forces kill 75 militants in Balochistan since 5th
ISLAMABAD: Security forces have killed a total of 75 terrorists in Balochistan since July 5 during Operation Shaaban and other intelligence-based operations, as authorities continue an intensified crackdown following the terrorist attack on the Mangi Dam Police Station, security sources said on Friday.
According to security sources, Operation Shaaban, jointly conducted by the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and Balochistan Police, remains underway in the rugged mountainous areas, where security forces have further tightened the cordon around terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij.
The sources said 26 terrorists had already been killed on July 6 and 7 during the ongoing operation. Over the past 24 hours, security forces eliminated 13 more terrorists through coordinated ground and aerial operations, bringing the total number killed under Operation Shaaban to 39.
Separately, security forces also repulsed a terrorist attack on a police station in the Zaidi area of Khuzdar early Friday.
According to security sources, troops from the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps responded swiftly, killing eight terrorists during the engagement. Authorities also received reports that five to six additional terrorists were killed in subsequent helicopter operations in the area.
