CPPs gas levy case: FCC issues notices to power regulator, other respondents
ISLAMABAD: The Federal Constitutional Court on Tuesday issued notices to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) and other respondents in a case concerning the collection of a levy on gas supplied to industrial captive power plants (CPPs).
A two-member bench, comprising Chief Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan and Justice Aamir Farooq, heard the Petroleum Division’s appeals against the judgments of the Lahore, Sindh and Islamabad High Courts.

During the proceedings, Justice Aamir Farooq asked when the government had first issued the notification relating to the levy. He also inquired whether the levy imposed on all captive power plants was uniform or varied among different CPPs.
