ISLAMABAD: Foreign Secretary Ambassador Amna Baloch on Tuesday received the visiting delegation of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Foreign Secretary reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to the full and effective implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC).
Earlier, the delegation was briefed by Additional Foreign Secretary/ Spokesperson Ambassador Tahir Andrabi on Pakistan’s implementation of the Convention, its broader disarmament and non-proliferation priorities, and its constructive engagement within the OPCW.
The delegation forms part of a distinguished gathering of 19 experts/representatives from 16 countries participating in the Forum on the Peaceful Uses of Chemistry, being held in Islamabad from 30 June–2 July 2026.
Jointly organised by Pakistan and OPCW under Article XI of the CWC, the Forum brings together international experts and regional delegates to advance cooperation on chemical safety and security, integrated chemicals management, responsible conduct in science, and the peaceful uses of chemistry.
