KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), on the request of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), has directed designated commercial bank branches and National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) branches handling customs collections to remain open on June 27, 29 and 30 to facilitate taxpayers in depositing government duties and taxes before the close of the fiscal year.

To facilitate taxpayers in making payments of government duties and taxes through Over-the-Counter (OTC) channels and Alternate Delivery Channels (ADCs), it has been decided, on the request of the FBR, that all Saturday-opening branches of commercial banks and NBP’s branches handling Customs collections shall remain open from 09:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026.

Commercial banks and designated branches of NBP handling customs duty collections will remain open beyond normal banking hours on June 29 and 30 to facilitate taxpayers and ensure smooth collection of government revenues before the close of the fiscal year.

According to SBP, all commercial bank branches and NBP branches collecting customs payments will remain open until 8:00pm on Monday, June 29, and until 10:00pm on Tuesday, June 30. In addition, NBP branches handling customs collections will continue operations until 11:59pm on June 30 to receive customs-related payments on the last day of the fiscal year.

Further, banks are advised to ensure that their concerned branches remain open, in accordance with the aforementioned schedule, for as long as required to facilitate the Special Clearing of Government transactions conducted by NIFT.

The banks shall also ensure uninterrupted availability of their digital payment channels i.e. internet banking, mobile banking applications, ATMs, and other digital platforms to facilitate the online payment of Government duties and taxes.
