LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has rejected the bail plea of a teacher Shan Ali accused of criminally assaulting an underage student.
The court directed the Punjab government to improve monitoring and strengthen the child protection measures in educational institutions.
The court also asked the government to ensure implementation of the court’s orders through the concerned authorities.
A 12-year-old student alleged that his teacher sexually abused him at school, while the co-accused also recorded a video of the incident.
The defence counsel, however, argued that the video was fabricated.
The court dismissed the bail application citing the seriousness of the allegations.
