PM, Swiss vice president discuss cooperation in various sectors
Pakistan's PM Shehbaz Sharif met Swiss VP Ignazio Cassis, discussing Pakistan's mediation in US-Iran talks, bilateral cooperation, and Swiss investment in Pakistan.

Vice President and Foreign Minister of Switzerland Ignazio Cassis called on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the sidelines of the ongoing technical-level talks between the US and Iran at Burgenstock, Switzerland on Sunday and discussed cooperation in various sectors.
The Swiss foreign minister appreciated the mediation role played by Pakistan in steering the negotiation process that led to the signing of the Islamabad MoU between Iran and the United States.
He expressed his country’s willingness to contribute and assist the follow-up process.
The prime minister thanked the Swiss side and affirmed that successful implementation of the Islamabad MoU will lead to regional peace and global economic stability.
He also appreciated the sustained Swiss investment in Pakistan, hoping that Swiss companies would further enhance their investments in the country.
PM Shehbaz also offered Pakistan’s assistance of highly skilled IT and cyber security experts to fulfil the growing demand of Switzerland in these sectors.
The two sides discussed the possibility of enhancing cooperation in mutually beneficial sectors of pharmaceuticals, tourism, and climate change and disaster risk reduction.
Shehbaz extended an invitation to the Swiss foreign minister to visit Pakistan as well.
