LAHORE: The United States Consul General in Lahore, accompanied by a delegation, paid a courtesy call on the Chairman Punjab Board of Investment & Trade and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT).

The Chairman & CEO PBIT welcomed the delegation and highlighted Punjab’s economic strengths, investment opportunities, and priority sectors, while outlining the Government of Punjab’s efforts, under the vision of the Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Chief Minister of Punjab, to create a competitive and business-friendly environment for local and international investors.

The Chairman PBIT invited US companies to explore investment opportunities in Punjab’s Special Economic Zones, particularly in the areas of technology transfer, advanced manufacturing, and high-value industries. The CEO PBIT proposed greater business-to-business engagement through joint investment roadshows, trade delegations, and sector-focused seminars to strengthen commercial linkages between Punjab and the United States.

The US Consul General congratulated the CEO PBIT on assuming office and noted the Consulate’s interest in supporting initiatives that promote economic cooperation.

He highlighted the significant potential for collaboration between US businesses and Punjab’s investment ecosystem and underscored the importance of the US-Pakistan economic relationship.

He further noted that initiatives aimed at facilitating trade, investment, and private-sector engagement can help unlock mutually beneficial business opportunities, and contribute to sustainable economic growth, particularly in Punjab.
