ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb held a meeting with opposition lawmakers Muhammad Aslam Ghuman and Zain Qureshi in the National Assembly on Wednesday, where they exchanged views on a range of issues of mutual interest.

According to parliamentary sources, the interaction took place when the finance minister arrived in the National Assembly chamber to attend the ongoing proceedings of the House. Opposition members Muhammad Aslam Ghuman and Zain Qureshi approached the minister and held a brief discussion in a cordial atmosphere.

Sources said the meeting focused on matters related to the federal budget, economic conditions, and other parliamentary issues. The participants also exchanged views on issues concerning their respective constituencies and the overall political and economic situation in the country.

The meeting came amid the debate on the Federal Budget 2026-27, going on in the National Assembly, with lawmakers from both treasury and opposition benches actively presenting their views on the government’s fiscal proposals and economic priorities.

The informal interaction reflected the spirit of parliamentary engagement and consultation among lawmakers despite political differences.

The finance minister has been holding meetings with legislators and stakeholders to discuss various aspects of the budget and to hear recommendations regarding economic reforms, revenue generation measures, and public welfare initiatives.

The meeting concluded after a brief exchange of views, following which Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb took his seat in the House to participate in the proceedings.
