LAHORE: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Tahir Farooq has ordered execution teams to fast-track construction on the Bhati Chowk underpass and adjacent Data Darbar expansion works.

Reviewing the Data Darbar Extension Project’s progress during his visit to the project site here on Saturday, Farooq emphasised a zero-tolerance policy on structural quality, ordering NESPAK and engineering teams to ensure 100 percent quality assurance during the final phases of development.

On this occasion, Traffic Engineering and Transport Planning Agency (TEPA) Chief Engineer Iqrar Hussain and the Project Director briefed the LDA DG on the ongoing efforts, saying the finishing work on the Data Darbar piazza and underground pedestrian underpass is in progress, along with simultaneous work on the parking area and toilet block. They added that the excavation for the Bhati Chowk underpass has been completed.

The TEPA Chief Engineer reported that additional teams are focused on upgrading properties surrounding Data Darbar, adding that development work on the Bhati Chowk underpass is continuing around the clock; excavation has been completed, and work is now underway on the foundation.
