Social media users call Momina Mustehsan’s feminist stand ‘fake’

12 Mar, 2018

On International Women’s Day, Pakistani singer and social media craze Momina Mustehsan shared a women empowerment video on her Instagram but many of the ones who viewed this clip called her stance ‘fake’ and accused her of ‘doing anything for money’.

Momina rose to fame after her song ‘Afreen Afreen’ with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan came out. However, like everything else, popularity also has its pros and cons as after the singer shamed Qandeel Baloch for wrong portrayal of women, the social media came after her without any mercy.

Nevertheless, it seems like the self proclaimed feminist is back at it again, as Momina recently posted a video on women empowerment that has become harder to digest for the social media and also a ragging topic of discussion on the internet.

The netizens called her ‘hypocrite’ and ‘fake’ for saying all this in an advertised format and that it looked unnatural and uncanny for her to stand before a camera and repeat these scripted words.

#HappyWomensDay @nowthisher @nowthisnews #NowThisOpEd Thanks for making this happen @tahseenmachine 💕
