USD23.37bn foreign assistance budgeted
The government has budgeted USD 23.378 billion in foreign assistance for 2026-27, an increase from the previous fiscal year, including significant bilateral deposits and funds from various international sources.

ISLAMABAD: The government has budgeted foreign assistance of USD 23.378 billion at the dollar rate of Rs 290 - (Rs6.779 trillion) including USD 12 billion bilateral deposits from external resources for 2026-27 compared to USD 19.922 billion budgeted for the outgoing fiscal year 2025-26.
The forging assistance includes USD 2.3 billion (Rs681.500 billion) borrowing from foreign commercial banks against USD 3.1 billion (Rs899 trillion) for 2026-27.
The government has budgeted USD 530 million (Rs153.700 billion) from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Further USD 4.866 billion has been budgeted from multilateral, USD 400.422 million from bilateral sources. Further USD 2 billion (Rs580 billion) has been budgeted from bonds compared to Rs116 billion budgeted for the outgoing fiscal year, which was later revised to Rs 280 billion.
The government has budgeted USD 12 billion under the head of bilateral deposits, however there is no specification that how much would be received under SAFE China deposit and KSA time deposit.
The government has budgeted has budgeted zero under the head of SFD oil facility which was USD 1 billion for the outgoing fiscal year, USD 1.680 billion from Asian Development Bank (ADB), USD 1.434 billion from IDA, USD 412 million from IBRD, USD 1 billion from IsDB (short-term), USD 1.122 billion from Naya Pakistan Certificates and USD 86.337 million from AIIB.
The government has budgeted USD 97.641 million from China, USD 50 million from Denmark, USD 23.889 million from USA, USD 47.182 million from Saudi Arabia and USD 29 million from Korea.
