LAHORE: ‘Chief Minister’s Athletes Card’ is being launched in Punjab, to provide financial assistance to highly talented athletes across the province.
Through this card, a scholarship of Rs100,000 will be awarded to Platinum Category athletes, Rs75,000 to Gold Category athletes and Rs50,000 to Silver Category athletes. These cards will be distributed among the scholarship-winning athletes in July.
The CM Athletes Cards will be issued to the players, who are receiving scholarships under the Punjab Sports Endowment Fund. The initiative is designed to provide financial assistance and encourage the athletes.
Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Fazalur Rehman held an important meeting regarding the launch of the Chief Minister’s Athletes Card at the Punjab Stadium on Thursday.
He said, “The Punjab government is fully committed to supporting athletes and encouraging them to achieve excellence in their respective sports.” He added that the Sports Endowment Fund has been established for the development and welfare of athletes. “Various initiatives are being undertaken in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister to ensure the growth and advancement of sports in the province,” he said.
