ISLAMABAD: A large consignment of liquor was seized during a joint intelligence-based anti-smuggling operation conducted by the Pakistan Navy, the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA), and the Excise, Taxation and Anti-Narcotics Department (South Zone) Balochistan near the coastal area of Gadani.
According to a statement issued by the Directorate General Public Relations (Navy) on Wednesday, the operation was carried out with the support of the Joint Maritime Information Coordination Centre (JMICC). The seized liquor was being transported into Pakistan by sea from international locations through illegal channels.
The confiscated contraband has been handed over to the Excise, Taxation and Anti-Narcotics Department for further legal proceedings. The statement said the successful operation reflects effective inter-agency coordination and cooperation in combating smuggling and underscores the Pakistan Navy’s commitment to preventing the country’s maritime domain from being used for any unlawful activities.
