LAHORE: Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Ahmed Khan has said that investing in world-class education is an essential investment for Pakistan’s future and national development.

Speaking at a ceremony, “introducing Malaysia as a new strategic study destination” at a Lahore hotel on Tuesday, he said the Pakistani youth are acquiring international skills and contributing positively to the country’s progress. He stressed knowledge, research, innovation, and technology are the driving forces behind the advancement of modern nations. He added studying abroad helps young people develop leadership qualities, research expertise, and critical thinking abilities.

Malik Ahmad Khan welcomed the initiative by IDP to promote Malaysia as a new educational destination, describing the country as a hub for affordable, high-quality, and internationally recognized education. He said Pakistani students have significant opportunities in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence and advanced technologies.

The Speaker praised Pakistani universities offering international degree programmes and called on the Higher Education Commission to expand scholarship opportunities. He also stressed that partnerships with leading global universities could further strengthen Pakistan’s higher education sector.

Speaking on public policy and national development, he stated that education remains the most effective path toward progress. He underscored the need to focus not only on higher education but also on improving school-level education to better prepare future generations.

He concluded by urging students who pursue education abroad to return to Pakistan and use their knowledge, skills, and international experience to support the country’s economic and educational growth.
