ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday paid a visit to the residence of Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to offer condolences on the death of his mother-in-law, underscoring the continued personal ties between the two long time political leaders despite past differences.
During the visit, the prime minister expressed deep sorrow over the bereavement and extended sympathies to the family, offering prayers for the departed soul and strength for those left behind.
He prayed for patience and fortitude for the grieving household, and inquired after Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan’s health during the meeting.
The interaction reflected the generally cordial, if occasionally strained, relationship between Sharif and Khan, a once-close associate of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) who later parted ways with the party following political differences a few years ago.
Despite the split, both leaders have continued to maintain a measure of personal goodwill, with Sharif previously visiting Khan on similar occasions, including following the death of Khan’s sister last year.
