HYDERABAD: Pakistan achieved a significant milestone in the field of information and communication technology by securing third place in the Network Track of the Huawei ICT Competition Global Finals 2025–2026 held in Shenzhen, China.

The achievement brought pride to Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam, as one of the team members, Muhammad Nouman Khan, is a student of the university’s Information Technology Centre (ITC).

According to a press release issued by the SAU spokesperson, a Pakistani team comprising students from Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam, and Mehran University of Engineering and Technology, Jamshoro, demonstrated outstanding technical expertise and innovation, securing third position among teams from around the world.

The global competition attracted 170 teams from 40 countries, providing a highly competitive platform for emerging ICT talent. Muhammad Nouman Khan represented Pakistan in the Network Track and played a key role in the team’s success through his technical skills and professional performance.

mmad Nouman Khan and the entire Pakistani team on their remarkable accomplishment. He said the university’s students were consistently earning recognition in international competitions, bringing honour not only to the institution but also to Pakistan.

“The continued success of our students in Huawei ICT Competition Global Finals demonstrates the quality of education and training being provided at the university in line with modern technological requirements,” he said.

The vice chancellor also acknowledged the contributions of Dr Sohrab Thaheem, faculty member at the Information Technology Centre, for his role in mentoring and preparing students for international competitions.

Dr Thaheem is a Huawei-approved instructor and serves as the Point of Contact (POC) for Huawei ICT Academy. He has been actively involved in equipping students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in information technology and networking.
