KARACHI: Atif Farooqi, Advisor and Chief Operating Officer of the Pakistan Romania Business Council (PRBC), and Sohail Shamim Firpo, Chairman of the Pakistan Romania Business Council, led a PRBC delegation at the Vision 2030 Pakistan Medical Devices Manufacturing Summit held at Salim Habib University.

The event was organized by Dr. Shahid Noor, Chairman of the Saman-e-Shifa Foundation, under the International Conference on Emerging Trends in Biomedical Engineering, Science, and Technology.

The summit brought together academic, industry, and policy leaders from Pakistan and abroad to promote collaboration in the fields of biomedical engineering, medical devices, and innovation-driven manufacturing.

The forum also featured participation from the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

The participation of the PRBC delegation reflected the Council’s commitment to strengthening academic, industrial, and trade relations between Pakistan and Romania, particularly in the areas of technology transfer, research collaboration, and medical device development.

Speaking on the occasion, Atif Farooqi and Sohail Shamim Firpo emphasized that Pakistan has a significant opportunity to strengthen its medical technology and manufacturing base through international partnerships, applied research, and industrial collaboration.

They stated that forums of this nature serve as a vital bridge between academia and industry and are essential for transforming innovation into practical impact.

They further noted that the Pakistan Romania Business Council takes pride in supporting such initiatives and will continue to play its role in promoting long-term cooperation between Pakistan and Romania.
