Four terrorists killed in KP intelligence-based operations: ISPR
- Military says operations were conducted in Dera Ismail Khan and Mohmand districts
Security forces killed four terrorists in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the night between June 3 and 4, 2026, the military’s media wing said on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an IBO was conducted in Dera Ismail Khan district after reports of the presence of terrorists.
During the operation, security forces engaged the suspected hideout, triggering an intense exchange of fire that resulted in the killing of two terrorists.
In a separate intelligence-based operation in Mohmand district, security forces effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and killed two more suspects, the ISPR said.
The military said weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain terrorists, who were allegedly involved in multiple terrorist activities in the area.
Security forces have launched sanitisation operations in both areas to clear any remaining threats, according to the statement.
The ISPR said Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies would continue counter-terrorism operations under the “Azm-e-Istehkam“
X initiative approved by the Federal Apex Committee of the National Action Plan, aimed at eliminating terrorism from the country.
Pakistan has witnessed a rise in militant attacks in recent years, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, prompting intensified intelligence-based operations by security forces.
