KARACHI: President of North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI), Faisal Moiz has said that his suggestions and demands have been presented before the Federal Finance Minister and the Prime Minister of Pakistan in Islamabad to solve the problems of traders and industrialists.
He said that the most important demand for exporters is that the final tax regime (FTR) should be restored.
He said that under the Finance Act 2024, exporters were removed from the final tax regime and transferred to the normal tax regime (NTR), due to which the export sector is facing difficulties, so they should be included in the FTR again.
Faisal Moiz added that the second important demand is the immediate abolition of super tax.
He demanded that the government introduce a taxation system in the upcoming budget that is industrialist and trader-friendly so that business activities can be promoted.
He said that traders and industrialists are the backbone of the country’s economy.
If they are provided with a conducive environment, they can play an important role in increasing investment, employment opportunities and foreign exchange reserves in the country.
He said that Pakistani exporters are the ones who bring valuable foreign exchange to the country and increased exports are a guarantee of economic stability.
The President of North Karachi Trade Association said that the government should introduce such economic and tax reforms that restore the confidence of the business community, because only strong industry and increasing exports can help Pakistan move towards economic development and reduce its dependence on external loans, especially the IMF.
