KARACHI: Kaukab Iqbal, Chairman of the Consumers Association of Pakistan (CAP), has welcomed the decision of Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Shehbaz Sharif to reduce the prices of diesel and petrol, stating that this step will provide significant relief to consumers across the country.

He said that the reduction in petroleum prices should directly impact the prices of daily-use items, transportation fares, and essential commodities so that the common people can receive real relief.

He urged the government to ensure that the benefits of reduced petroleum prices are immediately transferred to the public and reflected in lower prices of food items, milk, vegetables, fruits, and other essential goods.

The Chairman of the Consumers Association of Pakistan stated that consumers are already facing serious difficulties due to inflation, therefore all relevant authorities must closely monitor markets to prevent profiteering and artificial price hikes.

Kaukab Iqbal thanked Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif for this public relief measure and expressed hope that the government would continue taking consumer-friendly decisions to provide maximum economic relief and protection to the people of Pakistan.
