ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday extended a warm welcome to His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan V, praising his longstanding commitment to promoting peace, stability, and constructive engagement with governments and international partners.
The reception took place at a breakfast meeting hosted in His Highness’s honour at the Prime Minister’s House, marking his first official visit to Pakistan after ascending to the role of Imam of Shia Ismaili Muslims, following the passing of his father, Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, in February last year.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister underscored Pakistan’s shared commitment to the values championed by the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN), the global humanitarian organisation founded by the His Late Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan.
“The Aga Khan Development Network has been a longstanding partner in Pakistan’s development journey,” the Prime Minister said, noting the organisation’s contributions across multiple sectors.
He highlighted AKDN’s work in rural development, healthcare, education, disaster resilience, climate adaptation, renewable energy, digital skills training, and youth entrepreneurship.
