ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives has authorised a total of Rs833.34 billion (99.5 per cent) out of Rs 837.16 billion allocation for development projects from July to April under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP)-2025-26.

Out of the total authorised/disbursed amount, the total amount spent so far on the development projects during the corresponding period stood at Rs469.85 billion, according to the latest data released by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives.

According to the Ministry of Finance’s notification, the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives authorised 15 per cent funds for the first quarter, 20 percent for the second quarter, 25 percent for the third quarter, and 40 percent for the fourth quarter under the PSDP.

According to data available, the Planning Ministry authorised Rs573.33 billion for development projects of various federal ministries, divisions and other departments against Rs577.15 billion budgeted allocations while Rs332.67 billion has been spent on the projects from July to April for the financial year 2025-26.

The ministry authorised Rs225.85 billion out of Rs260 billion budgeted for the National Highways Authority (NHA) and Power Division (NTDC/PEPCO) for development projects while a total of Rs260 billion has been spent.

A total of Rs184.868 billion has been authorised out of Rs184.868billion for development projects of the NHA and Rs75.14 billion out of Rs75.14 billion budgeted allocations for the power sector (NTDC/PEPCO) for the current fiscal year.

According to the data, a total of Rs106.64 billion out of Rs106.64billion has been authorised for development projects of Water Resources Division while Rs66.9 billion has been spent. A total of Rs63.24 billion has been authorised out of Rs63.24billion budgeted allocations for development projects for the Cabinet Division while Rs44 billion has been spent.

The ministry also authorised Rs197.465 billion out of Rs201.8billion for provinces and Special Areas while Rs117.6 billion has been spent on the development projects.

A total of Rs34.9billion out of Rs34.9 billion has been authorised for development projects of Higher Education Commission (HEC) while Rs24.15billion has been spent so far.

A total of Rs18.56 billion out of Rs18.56 billion has been authorised for development projects of Railway Division while Rs12.9 billion has been spent so far. The ministry also authorised Rs2.3 billion for the Climate Change Division, Rs26.6 billion for the Federal Education and Professional Training Division, Rs18.4 billion for Information Technology and Telecom Division and Rs3.3 billion for Information and Broadcasting Division etc.
