PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi and Chief Minister Sohail Afridi discussed key administrative matters during a meeting at the Governor’s House.
The meeting reviewed the closure of CNG stations in the province and the issue of wheat transportation from Punjab.
Governor Kundi said the closure of CNG stations in the province was against the Constitution that badly affecting the poor segment of society. He said both the wheat shortage and closure of CNG stations were creating hardships for low-income group people.
He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa could procure wheat from Sindh, but requires transit facilitation by Punjab, saying the lack of such a route is forcing the province to buy wheat at higher rates. He said the Sindh government is willing to provide wheat to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting was also attended by Babar Saleem Swati, newly sworn-in provincial minister Shafi Jan and Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah.
