LAHORE: Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Bilal Yaseen along DG Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) Punjab Director General Tayyab Fareed and WASA Lahore MD Ghufran Ahmed visited various parts of the city to review the drainage operations during the rainfall on Wednesday.

On this occasion, the Minister directed officers to remain present in the field. He stated that timely drainage of rainwater and smooth traffic flow in low-lying areas and locations must be ensured. “Any obstacles hindering drainage operations should be removed immediately,” he added.

He also appealed to the public not to remove any manhole covers on their own; citizens were advised to avoid low-lying areas, electrical installations, and construction sites during the rain. He further stated that all available resources would be utilised for the immediate removal of rainwater from low-lying areas. Providing relief to citizens is the top priority of the Punjab government and WASA, he added.
