PESHAWAR: The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa under Bureau of Intelligence & Investigation (EBI&I) D.I. Khan Squad recovered more than 11 kilograms of Ice (crystal meth) during an operation on Daraban Road and arrested an accused drug smuggler.
According to the Excise Department, the action was carried out on the basis of a tip-off. During the operation, officials intercepted a suspicious vehicle bearing registration number BRW-436 and conducted a search.
The team recovered bottles filled with Ice that had been skillfully concealed inside the vehicle’s fuel tank. The total weight of the recovered narcotics was 11,130 grams. The arrested accused has been identified as Allah Muhammad, son of Abdullah Jan and a resident of Quetta.
The accused was taken into custody along with the seized narcotics, while a case has been registered at Excise Police Station D.I. Khan Region. Further investigation is under way.
The ongoing crackdown is being carried out under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s zero-tolerance policy against narcotics and on the directives of Minister for Excise Syed Fakhar Jehan.
The Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department has reiterated its commitment to continuing operations against drug trafficking across the province.
