PM Shehbaz approves key policies in cabinet meeting amid rising global challenges

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved several critical national policies in a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, aiming to strengthen Pakistan’s economic and industrial sectors amidst rising global challenges, his office said.
The cabinet endorsed Pakistan’s first National Agricultural Biotechnology Policy, designed to boost food security and agricultural productivity through research and development.
Additionally, the National Seed Policy 2025 was approved, targeting a 15 to 20 percent increase in crop yields and empowering farmers through partnerships with international seed companies.
The cabinet also approved the National Skills Development Policy, which aims to better align the workforce with modern industry needs and offer international-standard training and certification for Pakistanis seeking employment abroad.
Despite ongoing global challenges such as rising petroleum prices, the Prime Minister expressed confidence in the government’s ability to manage the situation for the public’s benefit.
In the health sector, a new policy for domestic vaccine production was green-lit.
The cabinet observed a minute of silence for the late mother of Federal Minister Imran Ahmad Shah. These policies are expected to help Pakistan meet national and international goals, fostering a more competitive and self-reliant economy.
