Ultimately, sanity has gained ground

Published Updated

Nothing could have been more pleasing and delightful than Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi’s statement that the Strait of Hormuz is open following the agreement of a ceasefire in Lebanon.

The US President Donald Trump’s remark that he believes a deal to end the Iran war will come “soon” is no less satisfactory, so to speak. Oil prices falling 11 percent on the Lebanon deal news is also a highly encouraging development in an atmosphere that had been strongly characterized by tensions, hopelessness, and pessimism since the US-Israel attack on Iran on Feb 28.

The present situation indicates that ultimately sanity has gained ground or a shift a shift away from chaos, confusion, or extreme views toward a more balanced, sensible, or “sane” approach.
