JERUSALEM: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday he has agreed to a temporary 10-day ceasefire in Lebanon to give time to forge US President Donald Trump’s initiative for a peace deal between Israel and Lebanon.

In a video statement, Netanyahu said a peace deal must include the dismantling of Hezbollah. He added that Israeli forces will remain in southern Lebanon.
