Aurangzeb in the US

Published Updated

Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb’s visit to the US, where he is scheduled to participate in the World Bank Group–IMF Spring Meetings 2026, in Washington from April 13 to 18, is taking place during the course of an uncertain and highly volatile situation in the world in general and the region where Pakistan is situated in particular.

The Finance Minister is scheduled to represent Pakistan at important events organised by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group, and will participate in a wide range of multilateral and bilateral engagements with global financial leaders, development partners, and policymakers.
In my view, the finance minister is likely to do his best to cash in on this opportunity in an effective and meaningful manner in view of the fact that the country is feeling the fallout of the Middle East conflict in a big way, to say the least. He is widely expected to make major gains through a slew of his planned meetings amid Pakistan’s growing profile in the comity of nations. Mehmood Qureshi (Lahore)
