ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has constituted a Parliamentary Board to oversee the awarding of party tickets to candidates for the upcoming general elections in Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to a statement issued by Jameel Ahmed Soomro, political secretary to the PPP chairman, on Monday, the board has been formed to ensure a transparent and merit-based selection process for party nominees in the region.
The Parliamentary Board comprises senior party leaders, including Faryal Talpur, Syed Nayyar Hussain Bokhari, Qamar Zaman Kaira, and Nadeem Afzal Chan, along with Muhammad Humayoon Khan, Advocate Amjad Hussain Azar, Engineer Muhammad Ismail, Imran Nadeem, Jamil Ahmed, and Bashir Ahmed.
The board will be responsible for reviewing applications, assessing candidates’ credentials, and finalizing recommendations for party tickets in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The PPP leadership expressed confidence that the board will play a key role in strengthening the party’s electoral strategy and ensuring effective representation in the upcoming polls.
