KARACHI: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nihal Hashmi met a delegation from the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Sunday, where both sides discussed Pakistan’s economic outlook and measures to boost trade and industrial growth.

The delegation, led by FCCI President Farooq Yousaf Sheikh, congratulated the Governor on assuming office and acknowledged his public service efforts.

During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on challenges faced by the business community and emphasized the need for enhanced cooperation at the federal level to promote industry and trade.

Hashmi described Faisalabad as one of Pakistan’s key industrial hubs, highlighting the central role of the business community in driving the national economy. “Traders and industrialists are the backbone of the country’s economy,” he said, adding that products from Faisalabad serve as global ambassadors for Pakistan.

He particularly noted the international recognition of Faisalabad’s textile sector, including cotton yarn, fabric, bed linen, towels and hosiery.

FCCI President briefed the Governor on issues confronting industries and proposed measures to increase exports. He also urged federal authorities to address concerns related to the relocation of industries to designated industrial zones. He invited the Governor to attend the upcoming Faisalabad Expo in Lahore as chief guest later this month.

Hashmi accepted the invitation and thanked the delegation for their engagement.
