Lawyers say will observe strike against petroleum price hike today

LAHORE: The legal fraternity has announced a boycott on April 07 (today) in protest against the recent increase in petroleum product prices.

The Lahore High Court Bar Association and the Lahore Bar Association jointly announced the strike call.

According to the announcement, lawyers will attend urgent cases at the Lahore High Court before observing a strike, while lawyers practicing in subordinate courts will stage a complete boycott of court proceedings. The president of the Lahore High Court Bar Association stated that the protest is solely against the rise in petroleum prices. He said lawyers would refrain from appearing before courts as a measure to protect public interest and ensure transparency within the judicial system.
