Operation Ghazab Lil Haq: Data shows 796 Afghan Taliban killed
ISLAMABAD: The number of casualties of Afghan Taliban as a result of Pakistan’s ongoing military operation reached 796, it emerged on Sunday.
The data issued by the federal government related to Operation Ghazab Lil Haq, launched by Pakistan’s security forces in Afghanistan, suggested that 796 Afghan Taliban were killed, over 1,043 sustained injuries, 286 posts of Afghan Taliban were destroyed and their 44 posts were captured.
Moreover, 249 tanks, armoured vehicles, artillery guns and drones from the Afghan side were destroyed, suggested the data issued by the Information Ministry.
It said 81 terrorists and terrorist support infrastructure locations across Afghanistan were effectively targeted by air.
“As part of these operations on the night falling between April 2 and 3, an attempt to physically attack a border post in Ghulam Khan Sector by Afghan Taliban was comprehensively foiled in which they suffered heavy casualties including up to 37 casualties and more than 80 injuries,” the ministry said in a statement.
