Navy inducts advanced corvette

KARACHI: The Pakistan Navy has officially inducted its second MILGEM Class Corvette, PNS KHAIBAR, marking a significant step in the service’s modernization and strategic capabilities.

The induction ceremony was attended by top naval officials, with Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, emphasizing the need for a technologically advanced and balanced navy. Addressing the gathering, Admiral Ashraf highlighted Pakistan’s strategic location along vital maritime trade and energy corridors, stressing that a strong naval force is essential to safeguard national interests and secure Sea Lines of Communication (SLOCs).

Recalling the Navy’s readiness during Marka-e-Haq, the Admiral noted that Pakistan Navy’s operational prowess forced the Indian Navy to retreat from perceived safe zones, sending a clear message that any threat to Pakistan’s maritime interests will be met decisively.
