The new academic year across Sindh will commence from April 1, with schools observing two weekly holidays, Provincial Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah announced on Tuesday.

Extending his best wishes at the start of the academic year, the minister said the decision has been implemented in line with the provincial steering committee’s directives.

According to the Sindh Education Department, all public and private schools across the province will observe holidays on Saturday and Sunday as part of austerity measures.

The notification stated that the inclusion of Saturday as a weekly holiday will remain in effect until further orders from the government.

The minister expressed hope that the new academic year would bring renewed commitment from teachers, enthusiasm among students, and continued support from parents.
