ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday apprised Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to help end the conflict in the Middle East.
In a telephone conversation initiated by the Kuwaiti leader, Sharif condemned the recent attacks on Kuwait and expressed Pakistan’s solidarity with the people of the Gulf state, offering condolences for lives lost and prayers for the recovery of the injured.
The Crown Prince praised Sharif’s leadership and endorsed Pakistan’s mediation efforts between Iran and the United States.
He also thanked the PM for Pakistan’s support amid the crisis and for his recent letter of solidarity, while expressing his intention to visit Pakistan once the situation stabilises.
Sharif assured the Crown Prince that Pakistan would continue to play a constructive role in promoting peace and stability in the region.
Later, in a post on X, the PM said he had reiterated Pakistan’s “strong condemnation of the attacks on Kuwait” and reaffirmed the country’s “unwavering solidarity with the brotherly people of Kuwait,” adding that Pakistan would continue efforts to promote dialogue and de-escalation in the Middle East.
