SBP-held foreign reserves rise $22mn to $16.38bn

Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased by $22 million to $16.376 billion during the week ended March 19, according to data released by the central bank on Thursday.

The SBP said the country’s total liquid foreign reserves stood at $21.736 billion as of March 19.

A breakdown of the reserves showed that $16.376 billion were held by the SBP, while net foreign reserves held by commercial banks amounted to $5.360 billion.

“The SBP’s FX reserves increased by US$ 22 million to US$ 16,375.8 million,” the central bank said.
