KARACHI: A ship of the People’s Liberation Army Navy, Daqing, arrived in Karachi on Wednesday to take part in a bilateral maritime exercise with the Pakistan Navy, according to an official statement.
The visiting vessel was given a ceremonial reception upon arrival and was escorted into port by Pakistan Navy ships, reflecting what officials described as longstanding friendly ties between Pakistan and China.
The exercise, SEA GUARDIAN IV, is scheduled to run from March 25 to April 2. It is the fourth iteration of the joint drills, aimed at enhancing interoperability and strengthening maritime cooperation between the two navies.
