LAHORE: President of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) Faheem ur Rehman Saigol has welcomed the appointment of the Head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tashkent Region as the focal person for interaction with LCCI and the Lahore business community, terming it a significant development for strengthening institutional and business connectivity between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

In a statement, the LCCI President said that the initiative taken during the visit of Governor of Tashkent Region HE Zoyir Toirovich Mirzaev would establish a structured channel of coordination between the two chambers and their respective business communities.

He said that the appointment of a dedicated focal person would greatly facilitate institutional coordination and ensure regular communication between LCCI and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tashkent Region. According to him, this mechanism will help convert the positive outcomes of the high-level visit into tangible business engagements, including trade partnerships, investment cooperation and joint ventures.

Faheem ur Rehman Saigol added that direct institutional linkage would enable timely follow-up on discussions, improve information exchange and promote sustained business-to-business interaction between entrepreneurs of Lahore and Tashkent.

He said that LCCI considers this development an important step toward strengthening long-term economic cooperation, enhancing bilateral trade and creating new opportunities for private sector collaboration between Pakistan and Uzbekistan. He expressed confidence that continued coordination through the designated focal person would further deepen commercial ties and support practical economic outcomes for both sides.
