SBP-held forex reserves rise $87mn to $16.3bn

The foreign exchange reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased to $16.3 billion during the week ended Feb 27, 2026, according to data released by the central bank on Thursday.

The SBP-held reserves rose by $87 million on a weekly basis.

Overall, the country’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves stood at $21.43 billion.

The central bank said that foreign reserves held by commercial banks amounted to $5.13 billion, bringing the country’s total liquid reserves to $21.43 billion as of Feb 27, 2026.

“During the week ended on 27-Feb-2026, SBP’s FX reserves increased by $87 million to $16.3 billion,” the SBP said.
