FY26 Jul-Feb tax collection shortfall rises to Rs430bn

ISLAMABAD: The shortfall in tax collection of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has considerably increased to Rs430 billion during (July-February) 2025-26 despite forced recovery of Super Tax in February and extraordinary enforcement measures and taxation/ enforcement measures of over Rs623 billion for 2025-26.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has collected Rs8,120 billion during the first eight months of the current fiscal year (2025-26) against the assigned target of Rs 8,550 billion, reflecting a massive shortfall of Rs430 billion.

The monthly data revealed that the FBR has provisionally collected Rs944 billion during February 2026 against target of Rs1,029 billion, reflecting a shortfall of Rs85 billion.
